Although experience is the best teacher, Brad Hompe has a lot more than experience at the Wisconsin Department of Corrections (WI-DOC) to draw upon. A believer in the power of academic learning, Brad also made sure he received the right amount of education to make him better. Following his high school graduation, he went on to Winona State in Minnesota, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in criminal justice and psychology. He then went on to obtain a Master’s in Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh.

While Brad Hompe was performing his duties as a WI-DOC employee, he also earned several certifications in areas such as law enforcement and another as a firefighter, which he received from Southwest Technical College.Whereas Brad Hompe can currently be found working withWI-DOCas a Corrections Complaint Examiner and Investigator for, in reality, over the course of his long and comprehensive tenure with WI-DOC, Brad has done nearly everything there is to do and performed nearly every task there is to do at a prison or a jail.
